Philanthropist Robert Fewell celebrates birthday at Coral Gables Museum

Coral Gables philanthropist Robert Fewell recently celebrated his 88th birthday with family, friends and special guests at the new Coral Gables Museum, at the corner of Salzedo Street and Aragon Avenue.

The museum, set to open Oct. 10 (10/10/10), is housed in the city’s historic firehouse and police station. Adjacent to the site is the 3,000-square-foot Robert and Marian Fewell Gallery, which will be utilized for larger traveling exhibits.

Although the museum’s official opening is set in the fall, the museum will offer plenty of activities in the meantime, including a summer camp for children ages 5 to 12 and lectures and evening concerts for adults.
