Juan T. Arraiz, 69

General Juan T. Arraiz passed away on Feb. 28, 2010. He was born in Caracas, Venezuela, on Jan. 16, 1941. He graduated as an Officer of the Venezuelan Air Force in 1961 where he was an active pilot during all of his military career. He culminated his career as a military adviser to the United Nations in 1991. After retirement, he became an active member of the Army Navy Club in Coral Gables, as well as a member of the United States Hang Gliding Association. General Arraiz also was a pilot and instructor at Miami Hang Gliding. In June of 1986, he was knighted as a “Cavaliere” by the Republic of Italy.
