Sub Serious is a hidden gem in Coral Gables

Sub Serious is one of the best hidden gems in the Gables. I was introduced to this casual sandwich shop by my husband, who used to frequent the spot for lunch.

The walls are covered in a mural of celebrities enjoying subs and patron memories, from postcards to photographs, and the air is filled with the smell of onions and chicken on the grill -- it's fantastic!

The staff is uber-friendly, especially the owner, who has been following the lives of his patrons one sandwich at a time, usually around noon.

Sub Serious offers a daily lunch special, in addition to its signature junior cheese steak sub with cookie and drink ($7) which is offered every day. Free delivery (limited area) is available, too. Breakfast is served daily until 11 a.m.

Off the beaten path of Miracle Mile, this spot is worth the visit, but be sure to bring cash as they don't take anything else.
