Cherish Adoptive Families of Miami, a support group for individuals and families considering adoption and for parents who have adopted, will hold an educational program entitled “Pre-Teen/Teenage Adolescence for Adopted Children” on Thursday, March 18 at 7 p.m. at the Whole Foods Lifestyle Center, 6701 Red Road, Coral Gables. Meetings are free and open to the public.

Speaker Teri Wunderman, Psy.D, will discuss how to help adopted pre-teens and teenagers deal with the struggles and successes of adolescence, how to encourage teens to discover who they are, who they are becoming and how their adoption history fits in with how they see themselves. Parents can share ideas and perspectives on parenting with love and patience through the often challenging teen years.
