Learn to Write Calligraphy Workshop
The Learn to Write Calligraphy Workshop is returning to Paper Emporium, 231 Aragon Ave., for its fourth installment, starting Feb. 17. Calligraphy remains an art form and this workshop is an excellent resource for those who want to delve into the secrets of fine calligraphy. Also, those who are thinking of addressing their wedding invitations or who want to brush up on penmanship skills with modern-day calligraphy techniques would greatly benefit from Learn to Write as well. Taught by professional calligrapher Monica Mirones, this four-class series will teach you the time-honored art of fine, hand lettering using the pointed pen in the copperplate style. The workshop will cover introduction to materials, fundamental strokes that form upper- and lower- case letters, and practice in writing words and sentences. Ms. Mirones is an experienced calligrapher and member of the South Florida Calligraphy Guild as well as other national calligraphy organizations.
