Beaux Arts Classes for Kids, Teens and Adults
CLASSES FOR KIDS
Mixed Media. Enjoy learning about different media including drawing, painting, sculpting and print making. Kids will learn the basic concept of balance, use of color and texture all while discovering their favorite medium. Ages: 5 to 12. When: 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. Mondays Jan. 25 – April 26, 2010. Cost: $250.
Pottery. Learn about the creative possibilities of clay. This class will introduce students to hand-building techniques and help them to develop sensory skills, an understanding of balance and concepts of textures. Ages: 5 to 12. When: 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. Tuesdays Jan. 26 – April 27, 2010. Cost: $250
Mommy & Me. Bring your toddler in and share the experience of this introduction to art. Each class will have a few stations set up for the child and parent to explore and create colorful projects. Class limit of 10. Ages: 3 to 4. 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursdays Jan. 28 – April 29, 2009. Cost: $280.
Portfolio Building. Does your son/daughter need help developing a portfolio? Through our many tools and museum access, we can help your child create a complete and comprehensive portfolio. Ages: 9 to 15. When: 4:15 to 5:45 p.m. Thursdays Jan. 28 – April 29, 2010. Cost: $250.

CLASS FOR TEENS
Teen Green. This is a new kind of art class aimed at creating a new generation of environmentally conscious teenagers. Learn how to become an artist using everyday materials found in homes. We will be creating 2D and 3D works of art mixing recyclable materials and art supplies such as paint, pastels and much more. Let your imagination run wild. Ages: 11 to 17. When: 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays Jan. 27 – April 28, 2010. Cost: $250.

CLASSES FOR ADULTS
The Art of Renaissance Ceramic Painting. Would you like to go beyond a ceramic decorating studio? Come and join us in learning the six-century-old art of Glazed Majolica Italian Ceramics. Throughout time, Majolica has had a great appeal to artists such as Picasso. Once you have learned the art, be ready to develop your own style. Ages: 18 and older. When: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 27, 2010 to April 28, 2010. Cost: $450 (materials included).
Decorative Painting Techniques and Decoupage. This class will give you the opportunity to experience the sheer joy of painting. Learn various techniques such as patina, antiquing, crackling and trompe l’oeil. Also experience the French art of decoupage, decorating an object by gluing colored paper cutouts (napkins, art prints and other paper supplies) in combination with special paint effects. Ages: 18 and older. When: 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 27 – April 28, 2010. Cost: $450 (materials included).
