Gables High Interact spotlights Biltmore Hotel with ‘end polio’ message
In honor of Rotary’s 108th birthday, the Coral Gables Senior High School Interact Club illuminated the historic Biltmore Hotel with the Rotary world message to “END POLIO NOW” on Saturday evening, Feb. 23, from 7 until 10 p.m.
The lighting was the fourth in a series that Interact has completed in Coral Gables, beginning last year on World Rotary Day.
Previous sites illuminated with the “END POLIO NOW” message were Coral Gables High, the 550 Biltmore Way Building and Coral Gables City Hall.
Gables High student Jake Mekin, club president for 2012-2013, has made Rotary’s PolioPlus campaign the focus of his group’s efforts for this year.
Matthias Kammerer, managing director for the Biltmore, accommodated Interact in this project.
