Romance-themed fundraiser gives museum a $5k Valentine
More than 200 social “crawlers” helped raise $5,000 for the Coral Gables Museum on Saturday, Feb. 9, by participating in the Valentine’s-themed Heart Crawl, presented by the museum’s Young Associates organization.
Participants were encouraged to wear green if they were single, red if they were in a relationship and yellow for “it’s complicated” as they made their way from Tarpon Bend to the Local, Fritz & Franz Bierhaus, JohnMartin’s Irish Pub and, finally, The Bar.
At each stop guests enjoyed complimentary beverages, and many crawlers happily posed behind a “kiss and repeat” sign to illustrate the Valentine’s Day theme.
Patrons also received color-coded beads to match their dating status, glow sticks and koozies as they migrated from one pub to the next.
The second annual Heart Crawl was organized by Cristina Mas, founder and president of the Young Associates, with Zak Mann and the YA board.
Established in 2011, the Young Associates is a forum for like-minded young professionals and art enthusiasts under age 40 to connect with peers while supporting the Coral Gables Museum and enjoying all it has to offer. Click here for more information.
