Dade Heritage Trust hard at work on upcoming ‘Voyage of Dreams’ gala

Gala co-chairs Susan and Robin Shelley recently hosted the Dade Heritage
 Trust Annual Gala Committee meeting at their home to kick off the trust’s
 upcoming “Voyage of Dreams” fundraiser.

This year, the Dade Heritage Trust’s gala will commemorate the 500th anniversary of 
Ponce de Leon’s landing in Florida. Honorary chairman is Ambassador 
Cristina Barrios, Consul General of Spain.

Featured will be Spanish entertainment, a seven-piece band and a silent auction of extraordinary 
travel and antique items. The gala will be held Friday, April 12, at the Biltmore Hotel, 1200 Anastasia Ave..

Among those already at work with the Shelleys planning the celebration are Marlin Ebbert, Cory Gittner, Ruth Jacobs, Dolly MacIntyre, Rob Marshall, Phyllis McHenry, Rita Michel, Lois Randall, Lilian Walby, B.R. Witt and Peter & Aymee Zubizarreta.

Founded in 1972, Dade Heritage Trust is Miami’s largest nonprofit historic preservation
organization. Past projects include the restoration of the Cape Florida Lighthouse, located at the tip of Key Biscayne, where Ponce de Leon is believed to have visited in 1513.
