Thousands of patrons attended the 62nd annual Beaux Arts Festival of Art the weekend of Jan. 19-20 on the grounds of the Lowe Art Museum at the University of Miami.

Cash awards across all 10 categories totaled over $20,000. This year’s Beaux Arts Festival of Art “Best in Show” winner was David Figueroa of Sanford, whose work was 3D sculpture. The festival poster was the work of another Central Florida artist, Tiffany Beasi.

This year’s festival brought more than 230 exhibitors from 30 states and several other countries. In addition to professional artists, the event included the Student Artist Showcase, featuring 150 pieces from Miami-Dade middle and high school students; the works were on display inside the Lowe, 1301 Stanford Dr., all weekend.

A South Florida tradition, the Beaux Arts Festival of Art featured live music and children’s entertainment, including free art activities. Food vendors provided an array of meal options for festival patrons.
