Actors’ Playhouse patrons celebrated the opening of Other Desert Cities at a pre-curtain reception on Friday evening, Jan. 18.

Playing at the Miracle Theatre through Feb. 10, Other Desert Cities is the funny and searing new play by Jon Robin Baitz, creator of TV’s Brothers & Sisters, that was one of the hottest tickets on Broadway last season.

Reception guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and cocktails and music by the Bravo Musicians while mingling with Actors’ Playhouse leadership and fellow theater lovers.

Other Desert Cities was a finalist for the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and nominated for five Tony Awards. The cast in the Actors’ Playhouse production includes Erin Joy Schmidt (Brooke Wyeth), Barbara Bradshaw (Polly Wyeth), American film, stage, and television actor J. Kenneth Campbell (Lyman Wyeth), Lourelene Snedeker (Silda Grauman) and Antonio Amadeo (Trip Wyeth).
