Theater patrons enjoyed a pre-curtain reception Friday night, Dec. 7, for Actors’ Playhouse presentation of The Last Five Years at the Miracle Theatre, 280 Miracle Mile.

The second show of Actors’ Playhouse 25th anniversary season, The Last Five Years is a contemporary song cycle that ingeniously chronicles the five-year life of a marriage, from meeting to breakup or from breakup to meeting, depending on how you look at it.

Written by the award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown, the musical features a stellar two-person cast: Broadway star Janet Dacal (as struggling actress Cathy Hiatt) and fan favorite Christopher A. Kent (as rising novelist Jamie Wellerstein).

The Last Five Years continues through Dec. 30. Tickets for weeknights and matinees are $40, and on Friday and Saturday evenings $48. Single tickets may be purchased through the box office at 305-444-9293 or online at www.actorsplayhouse.org.
