It was a tree-studded event on Thursday, Nov. 29, at the Coral Gables Museum, as Florida International University’s Interior Architecture Department celebrated its 26th annual Festival of the Trees.

Designers and sponsors such as Perkins + Will, Haworth Inc., TSAO Design Group, and Johnsonite, to name a few, collaborated in pairs to create innovative holiday trees addressing the theme “Synergy: A Harmony of Paris.”

The 2012 Festival of the Trees gala — a fundraiser for the Interior Architecture Department and its talented students — was attended by over 500 guests by members from the design community and friends of FIU.

Out of 22 entries, the winning bids and honorable mentions went to the following trees and companies:

The trees will be on display at the Coral Gables Museum, 285 Aragon Ave., for the museum’s “First Friday Gallery Night,” on Friday, Dec. 7, and throughout the weekend.

Winning bidders will be able to pick up their trees on Sunday, Dec. 9.
