After winning the President’s Choice Award for Best Community Float in the 63rd Annual Orange Bowl Parade, Coral Gables Museum’s winter camp Join the Parade! is back and ready to conquer again.

The Coral Gables Museum invites children ages 5-12 to a three-day winter camp from Dec. 26-28, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The museum, 285 Aragon Ave., promises to entertain children during school break with holiday arts & crafts activities and one major group project — to design and create costumes and props for the museum’s entry in the 64th annual Junior Orange Bowl Parade. This year’s parade theme is Sailing to New Adventures. Campers and their families will be invited to dress up and join the museum’s unit on parade day, Sunday, Dec. 30.

The Junior Orange Bowl Parade is the signature event of the Junior Orange Bowl International Youth Festival. Hundreds of children and young people take to the streets of downtown Coral Gables in this celebration of active youth and community. This is the second year that the Coral Gables Museum will participate.

“Coral Gables Museum is thrilled to offer this creative and unique program for children and youth in our community. Our participation in the celebrated Junior Orange Bowl Parade is a special and exciting opportunity, especially for our campers and their families.” said Ashley Montano, the museum’s school and family programs manager.

Tuition for winter camp is $110 for family members and $135 for non-members. Partial scholarships are available for families who can demonstrate financial need.

A maximum of 30 campers can enroll, so parents should register their children early. To register visit www.CoralGablesMuseum.org or call 305.603.8067.
