The Miami Marlins teamed up with the Coral Gables Fire Benevolent Association on Friday, Nov. 16, and donated 50 Thanksgiving meals to deserving students and families from George W. Carver Elementary.

The Marlins Foundation provided 20 Thanksgiving meals to the CGFBA as part of the 1,000 meals it donated area-wide. The CGFBA provided an additional 30 meals for a total of 50 Thanksgiving meals specifically for deserving families of Carver Elementary, 238 Grand Ave.

The families were chosen based on financial need; each family received a turkey, fixings and desserts.
