Don Slesnick’s portrait recently joined those of the 22 other former Coral Gables mayors dating back to 1925. Mr. Slesnick held that post from 2001 to 2011.

Coral Gables Mayor Jim Cason unveiled the portrait and with Mr. Slesnick hung it in the mayor’s reception room at the historic City Hall in a special ceremony Oct. 16.

Many of Mr. Slesnick’s family members, City Commission colleagues and friends came to commemorate the special moment.

“I am thrilled to join my fellow mayors on these historic walls, but the real honor was the privilege of serving the citizens of Coral Gables for the first decade of the 21st century,” Mr. Slesnick said.
