Chamber celebrates 87th anniversary with ‘One To Grow On’ campaign
The Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce received a proclamation Oct.16 from the City Commission, which declared Thursday, Oct. 25, as “Chamber Day in Coral Gables” in celebration of the chamber’s 87th anniversary.
To celebrate the milestone, chamber leaders will visit businesses throughout the community on Thursday to enhance the chamber’s long-standing brand and promote membership advantages as part of their new “One To Grow On” campaign.
“I’m honored to be a part of this milestone event in celebration of 87 continuous years of dedication and support to our community,” said Chamber Chair Darla Thompson of Cherry Bekaert & Holland, LLP. “October 25th, 2012, will be a day to remember and I’m proud to share this anniversary with our members, chamber leadership and the business community in Coral Gables.”
The chamber will wrap up the day with a special celebration at Cibo, 45 Miracle Mile, as part of the wine bar’s first-anniversary event from 6-8 p.m. Mayor Jim Cason will propose a celebratory toast; special guests will include Robert Furniss-Roe, president of Coral Gables-based Bacardi North America, and Nick Di Donato, president and CEO of Liberty Entertainment Group.
Created in 1925 by city founder George E. Merrick, the Coral Gables Chamber represents more than 1,500 members and is the second-largest business association in Miami-Dade County. Its mission is to foster and enhance the economic interests of the Coral Gables community, while advancing the quality of life of its members, partners, neighbors and visitors.
