The Coral Gables Woman’s Club recently hosted a cocktail reception for the 2012 “Let’s Move Together” Arthritis Walk Miami-Dade, which sets out from Amelia Earhart Park in Hialeah on Saturday, Nov. 3.

Goya Foods, sponsor of the 2012 Arthritis Walk Miami-Dade, flew in its executive chef from New York, Fernando Desa, who prepared hors d’oeuvres for the guests at the historic club, 1001 E. Ponce de Leon Blvd.

Dr. Santiago de Solo, national board member of the Arthritis Foundation, and FIU baseball coach Henry “Turtle” Thomas, community honorary chair of the walk, were among special guests at the Oct. 11 event.

Woman’s Club President Mireya Kilmon, media chair for the walk, has been a volunteer and spokesperson for the Arthritis Foundation for many years.
