Don Slesnick re-appointed as Army Reserve ambassador
Former Coral Gables Mayor Don Slesnick, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel, has recently been reappointed to a three-year term as one of the Army Reserve’s civilian ambassadors.
“Your professionalism and service during the past four terms as an Army Reserve ambassador have been exemplary,” Chief of the Army Reserve LTG Jeffrey W. Talley wrote in a letter to Mr. Slesnick. “You have made many worthwhile contributions to both the Army Reserve and your community.”
This becomes Mr. Slesnick’s fifth term as an Army Reserve ambassador, a capacity he has taken on for the past 12 years because it allows him to assist the Army Reserve in establishing and maintaining beneficial relationships with his professional, philanthropic and community networks across the state.
Mr. Slesnick, a former U.S. Army advisor to NATO forces in Germany, is tasked with educating the public, government, business and military and veteran service organizations about the Army Reserve. His new term ends on July 12, 2015.
