Fashionistas hit Merrick Park for Fashion’s Night Out
Shoppers flocked to the Village of Merrick Park as Coral Gables once again participated Fashion’s Night Out, an evening of flair, shopping and entertainment, on Thursday, Sept. 6.
Staying open late, Merrick Park’s stores and businesses were flooded with shoppers, who were treated to exclusive offers and promotions, including special discounts, personal styling sessions, makeup applications and free manicures. Visitors shopped and socialized to the beat of music provided by various DJs stationed throughout the venue.
Some stores, such as Neiman Marcus and Azul, hosted in-store fashion shows, showcasing the latest trends and designs straight from New York and Los Angeles. Other stores, such as Banana Republic and Lisa Todd, saw Fashion’s Night Out as a perfect opportunity to showcase their latest fall collections.
Fashion’s Night Out also gave its participants the chance to win a variety of beauty-related prizes, including a spa gift certificate and an H. Stern gift bag.
Many customers chose to savor a variety of delicious hors d’oeuvres and tasty desserts; champagne, wine and cocktails were among the night’s refreshments. Merrick Park merchants were among over 60 stores throughout Miami-Dade that participated in the annual event.
Vogue magazine pioneered the idea for Fashion’s Night Out in 2009. The one-night style extravaganza to boost the industry during the recession soon became a global initiative to celebrate fashion and increase sales.
