Woman’s Club leader takes role in Arthritis Foundation walk

Mireya Kilmon, newly elected president of the Coral Gables Woman’s Club, has been selected as media chair for the “Let’s Move Together” Arthritis Foundation walk.

Ms. Kilmon has several titles to her name in pageantry. She holds the Lifetime Queen Award for the American Image National Pageants and is the 2012 Brand Ambassador for Tiara Magazine, an international pageant publication.

She has been a volunteer and spokesperson for the Arthritis Foundation for many years and it is her dedicated platform in pageantry.

Dr. Jorge Orbay has been named medical honorary for the “Let’s Move Together” Arthritis Foundation walk. Dr. Orbay is a board- certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity. He received his training and residency at the Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopedic Institute of New York and completed his fellowship in hand and microsurgery at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital. As a dedicated innovator in his field he has developed implant systems and techniques that continue to improve patient quality of life. He has proudly served patients for over 20 years in the Miami area.

Ms. Kilmon and Dr. Orbay are no strangers since Dr. Orbay has been Ms. Kilmon’s surgeon for over 10 years and is proud to help bring awareness and raise funds to assist the 50 million Americans who suffer from some type of arthritis.

They are working with other members of the walk committee for the Arthritis Walk kickoff luncheon to be held on Sept. 12 at the Hyatt Regency in Coral Gables. The walk sets out from Amelia Earhart Park in Hialeah on Saturday, Nov. 3.
