Gables reception celebrates Peruvian Independence Day
The Peruvian American Chamber of Commerce of South Florida recently helped local Peruvians celebrate their country’s Independence Day with a reception in Coral Gables.
Special guests at the July 27 event, held at Mixtura at La Cofradia, 160 Andalusia Ave., included Peruvian Consul Enrique Bustamante, Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez, Congressman Mario Diaz Balart, Miami-Dade Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz, presidents of other bi-national chambers of commerce and Miami consuls from several other countries.
Patrons enjoyed a wide selection of appetizers and pisco, a popular brandy produced in Peru. The nation celebrated the 191st anniversary of its independence on Saturday, July 28.
