Officer Eric Plescow, a four-year veteran with the Coral Gables Police Department, has been arrested and relieved of duty based upon pending criminal charges resulting from an off-duty incident, the Coral Gables Police Department said in a press release Monday, July 23.

“Due to this matter being an ongoing investigation by the Miami-Dade Police Department, the Coral Gables Police Department will not be making any further statements at this time,” the release concluded.

Various media reports said the 26-year-old officer was arrested Sunday morning, July 22, in Palmetto Bay on three counts of battery involving an attack on his girlfriend. Bail was set at $4,500; he was released after posting a bond.
